Helpful Tips for Coming into the Festive Season...
For many this is fast becoming their busiest time of year. Between organising Christmas events, families and work life; stress levels begin to run high. This highlights more of the fact that we must take time out for ourselves, ensuring we aren’t run completely into nothingness.
Be sure to maintain a healthy diet and a healthy balance between work/home & leisure time. Yes there may be SO much to do but if we burn ourselves out then we will be good for nothing, especially enjoying this festive time of year with our loved ones.
Do yourself a favour.. take that long beach walk, a nice warm bath, disappear for a trip into the hills, surround yourself with your loved ones and the things you love and SMILE!!! A relaxed and healthy you is a happy you.
Not only is it important to be looking after ourselves in the sense of balancing our work/relaxation time, but it is equally if not more important to be looking after ourselves physically.
Exercising and taking into consideration our diet is a VERY important factor in maintaining low stress levels and ensuring we stay healthy. Understandably this is a time of year where alcohol and foods we may not normally eat come into play but this can become a real stress on the body. Ensuring the weeks leading up to the festive season are spent preparing for this gives the body the best possible fighting chance.
There are some specific foods that I believe everyone should be including in their diets at all times and especially the coming weeks. These foods boost your immune system and help to lower stress levels. They include:
- Citrus – Oranges, mandarins, lemons, etc.
- Carrots
- Papaya
- Ginger
- Tumeric
- Green Leafy Vege
- Avo’s
- Blueberries
