Happy shivaratri. A divine time to be delving into changing shiva's name. Traditionally - all night long! Shiva is an energy I have been connected to my whole life. Mum and Dad raised me in the Siddha Yoga tradition which meant I was chanting Om Namah Shivaya from when I was in the womb. Whenever anything is happening in my life and I need support of something greater- I Chant to the energy of shiva. He helps to clear slates of the ego and reminds us of our true essence. It can be cathartic and fiery to be so real with what is there within us. But equally as powerful. This painting I bought in India from a well known artist in the South. He had a room full of stunning paintings on silk which all looked like photographs. I was drawn to this 'shiva baba' immediately. The artist then shared that this was one of the main shiva baba's in Pushkar- a town in Rajisthan where I went to school. I recognize this man- his eyes and his soul are so familiar. And I recently got him framed and tonight on shiva ratri I'm chanting with him before he goes on my wall. OM Namah Shivaya!!!! Tomorrow evening 5.30pm the yoga class will be all about the energy of shiva. Blessed be. Namaste. #shiva #meditate #yogaeverydamnday #yogabyronbay #yogamullum #yoga #shivaratri #chanting #mantra #mantraband #fire #peace #surrender #catharsis
